Dr Collette Burke – Interim Chief Executive Officer

Dr Collette Burke has spent more than 30 years in the Engineering & Construction Industry in both the private and public sectors. She has worked in all states of Australia, and has moved through a variety of roles within telecommunications, road, tunnel, rail, building, marine and other major infrastructure projects.

Dr Burke holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Victoria University, a Masters of Engineering Science, Engineering from UofNSW. She is an internationally acknowledged researcher, with a PhD in Risk Management of the Life Cycle of Construction Projects from RMIT.

Currently a Director to the boards of VicTrack, Australian Rail Track Corporation and ARRB Group Pty Ltd and Managing Director of a private engineering consulting firm; Exner Group, an engineering consultancy specialising in digital and immersive technology development.

Dr Burke was previously appointed the inaugural Victorian Chief Engineer at the beginning of 2018 to provide expert advice on major project design and engineering in Victoria. She has also held senior roles at Leighton Contractors (now named CPB).

Andrew Hugo – Chief Financial Officer

Andrew joined Project Marinus in 2018. He is a senior finance and commercial leader with 20 years’ experience in the development and delivery of major capital projects in the oil and gas, utilities and infrastructure industries. Andrew has extensive experience in developing and leading financial governance for project-specific entities and joint ventures.

Andrew is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

Prajit ParameswarChief Commercial Officer

Prajit is an experienced professional in the energy industry and markets and has extensive knowledge of the Australian electricity industry value chain, emerging challenges and opportunities. Prajit is a certified practicing accountant (CPA), Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and has Masters degrees in Business and Professional Accounting.

Prajit has spent over a decade working on the full spectrum of Hydro Tasmania’s commercial and trading groups. He has developed commercial models and products, including contract support mechanisms and structures to de-risk investments, and has experience demonstrating commercial viability for traditional hydropower and pumped hydro projects. Prajit brings extensive expertise in commercial contract negotiation, people leadership, trading risk and stakeholder management.

Michael Carter – Project Director

Mike is a power engineer and senior leader who has spent most of his career in the electricity transmission sector, focusing on major project feasibility, development and execution. 

Over the last twenty years, Mike’s roles have included Project Director for the Basslink Interconnector, General Manager of Projects for Transpower NZ, and General Manager of Network Engineering for AusNet Services. Mike advised Marinus Link for three years before becoming Project Director in early 2024. 

Mike has extensive experience structuring and leading major projects with strong technical, project management, commercial, and leadership skills. His expertise spans a range of ownership and financial structures, including project financing, private equity, and government-funded projects and businesses.

Nicholas Aird – Executive Manager Governance & Legal 

Nicholas Aird

Nicholas specialises in complex project-related legal matters, drawing from over 17 years’ experience at market-leading global law firms and some of Australia’s largest listed infrastructure organisations. 

Nicholas’ areas of expertise cover energy regulation, project procurement and delivery, strategic and commercial risk assessment, and Board relations. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and qualified as a lawyer while working at international law firm King & Wood Mallesons.

Nicholas is also MLPL’s General Counsel and Company Secretary.
