Who can apply?

The Sponsorship Program has two separate categories and is open to registered not-for-profit organisations located within the Marinus Link project area in Gippsland, Victoria, and North West Tasmania.

General Sponsorship

General Sponsorship provides financial assistance to eligible community not-for-profit organisations that deliver social, cultural, environmental, or community benefits within the project area.

Eligible organisations may apply for a General Sponsorship up to $1,000 per year.

Marinus Link considers applications to General Sponsorships that demonstrate:

• Registered not-for-profit status.
• Located within eligible project communities.
• An outline of the organisation’s values.
• Alignment with Marinus Link’s Sustainability Framework.
• Expected outcomes and estimated community reach.
• How Marinus Link will be recognised.
• Request of funding up to $1,000.

Examples of General Sponsorships we will not consider

• Applications from purely commercial organisations.
• Applications exceeding program limits.
• Applications from outside the eligible locations.
• Commercial projects, enterprises or individuals.
• Overtly political or religious organisations.

Event Sponsorship

Event Sponsorships support an organised activity or gathering that is being conducted within the determined eligible locations, which provide an opportunity for people to connect, participate in shared activities, celebrate culture, support local organisations, and promote community wellbeing.

Eligible organisations may apply for a General Sponsorship up to $2,000 per year.

Marinus Link considers applications to Event Sponsorships that demonstrate:

• Registered not-for-profit status.
• Event will be located within eligible project communities.
• An outline of the organisation’s values.
• Alignment with Marinus Link’s Sustainability Framework.
• Timing and location of the event.
• How Marinus Link will be recognised at the event.
• Expected outcomes and estimated community reach.
• Request of funding up to $2,000.  

Examples of Event Sponsorships we may support

• Agriculture, art, sport and community events.
• Expenses for a club or association’s attendance or participation at an event.
• Uniforms related to an event.

Examples of Event Sponsorships we will not support

• Applications from purely commercial organisations.
• Applications that support an individual’s attendance or participation at an event.
• Applications exceeding $2,000.
• Applications outside the eligible locations.
• High-risk events or those with poor safety or environmental performance.
• Events inconsistent with Marinus Link’s purpose or vision.
• Overtly political or religious organisations or events.

How to apply

Completed applications for either ‘General Sponsorship’ or ‘Event Sponsorship’ should be emailed to team@marinuslink.com.au and include “GENERAL/SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION” in the email subject line.

Important Sponsorship Program Information

• Organisations may receive no more than one General or Event Sponsorship per year.
• Due to the competitive nature of the program, Marinus Link may prioritise new recipients over organisations that have previously received funding.
• Applications are received and assessed by the Marinus Link Team.
• Assessment occurs after the application period has closed.
• Marinus Link may contact applicants if further information is required.
• Successful applicants will be required to enter into a formal General or Event Sponsorship Agreement.
• Funding is conditional upon execution of the General or Events Sponsorship Agreement.
• Marinus Link reserves the right to refuse or consider an application at its sole discretion.
